I love finding ghost towns and forgotten buildings in California and Nevada. I thought we could share pictures here. I'll start it off with this one I took last weekend in Duncan Mills, California.

Ok I have one more school house to share. This one is in Stewarts Point only 19 miles from the first school house I posted. This one is right on the coast, the Pacific Ocean is only a hundred feet or so behind it at the bottom of a rocky cliff.

I really don't go around looking for one room school houses, but I realized I had one more picture of a school house at Fort Ross, California. This one is half way between the other two. It has been restored and is in a county park.

Haven't seen a cabbage tree trunk like it.Not the reason I took the photo & actually noticed it later in one of the pics I took.At a guess I'd say an old cattle or sheep station house.

Harrisville paper mill ruins in the Pine Barrens of S. Jersey. It and the village that grew up around it was wiped out by a forest fire early in the 20th century.

michael...when I saw your rhyolite images i was shocked at first because I thought I was looking at someone else posting one of my pictures...lol. Mine look very similar. Its neat to see pics taken by different artists in the same spot! Here is mine with a little PS touchup.
