Nice job kid77, I actually thought you were using a Nikkor 18-200VR awhile ago, do you like this Sigma 18-200 dc better?

Good to hear from you again, what settings did you use?
I'm assuming the Nikon lens. I have tried some moon shots, but
usually come away with nothing usable.

never had the 18-200VR always sigma....
i used the 70-200VR
settings were...actually just grabbed and snap now that i see some settings
EV+.33
f18, shutter 1/80
EV+.33
F10 SS 320
looks like i had the camera in ISO 800......never even thought to look at that...??
applied USM mask at
100

The results of the 70-200 speak for themselves. Hand-held moon shots at night are pretty rare. Pretty darn good.

i was amazed at SS of 320......
now i had iso 800......should go lower, higher??? or just right
