Has Panasonic ever been known to issue firmware upgrades to its digital cameras? I thought of this while reading LoveLife's synopsis of the recent review of the FZ30. I am not sure whether the ISO can be "upgraded" to accomodate 800 or 1600 this way, but I would be curious.

No they do not...and it is not software related its physics.
Almost no camera co offers firmware upgrades they offer firmware to fix a problem but usually not for added features.

Yes I think you're correct genece that's a shame really. The one thing I would have thought would have been possible as a firmware update would have been to make the LCD gain up on the FZ20. That would have been a significant improvement - I would probably even pay a little for that download;)

I agree and as much as we all felt that could have been fixed with firmware ...Panasonic claimed that it could not.

I guess one could be forgiven for thinking that whilst they are still selling the FZ30 as the top model they wouldn't want to take buyers away from it hence the policy.
