I am researching to find a replacement for my existing digital camera, SONY DSC-T7. T7 takes great pictures outdoors but Indoor flash photography is not acceptable (yellowish and high noise).
Upon research, I found that Panasonic is introducing its new DMC-FX01 digital camera with image stabilizer and Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens. The FX01 is scheduled to be released on April 1, 2006.
I am very interested in this camera and would like to see if any one has any opinions on before I pre-order it. I understand there may not be many people with experience with the FX01 since it is not available yet but does any one have any knowledge of other Panasonic cameras such as FX8 and FX9. I am a huge Sony fan but I think their ultra compact digital cameras have limitations under low light, indoor conditions. I had their DSC-P10 for about a year and traded in for DSC-T7.
Can someone assist me in looking for the next ultra compact digital camera? I was hoping the review by Megapixel.net on Panasonic FX01 would be a great one but I think it scored high on functionality but not picture quality. I believe Canon received a higher score overall in terms of picture quality. I am intrigued by the Leica lens with Panasonic FX01 and believe it should take excellent photos but the score does not reflect that. The negatives from Megapixel.net are: Compression a bit too strong at the Fine setting. Some noise at all ISO levels. 16:9 mode not as well implemented as it should be.
Can someone offer explanations on the meaning of the negatives?
Thank you!
