G'day everyone,
Lately I have been looking on Digital SLR cameras to replace my FujiFilm s7000 after 2 years having it and learnt a lot and time to move to SLR, and I am lending on Minolta 5D because I've been told that my old film Minolta 500si's lens will fit on KM 5D since I have 3 different lens which are - 28-80mm, 60-200mm & 200mm to 400mm lens, the reason I am lending on KM 5D is because of the quality, price and very impressive picture quality. The shop will not allow me to test the camera with my lens (planning to go to another shop and ask) the price for KM 5D with 18-70mm lens is $999 from Michaels in Melbourne Australia.

Now, few questions..

Will lens fit from Minolta 500si fit on KM 5D?
What is KM 5D like at darkness like beyond a stage in a theatre (I often go and watch performances)?

Any common complaints about that certain model camera?
Cheers

If the lenses are from Minolta, they should work fine. If they are from a 3rd party manufacturer like Sigma, there is a chance they will give problems (just won't work, they will not damage the camera though).

With the right lens the KM 5D will do fine in a theatre, but it depends more on the lens than on the camera. A "fast" lens will be preferred, like a fast prime. Then the sensor can get enough light in a short exposure.

MY TAMRON 28-200lens from 500xi worked perfectly at 5d

common complain is the lazy eye problem because of the longer preflash delay.
