My first picture it was 80 degrees, now it is 50 and the wind is blowing but Spring is definitely coming, so says this pear tree.

Atsa very nice. The Mesquite, Desert Acacia, Yucca, and Rosemary are just starting to bloom here. And lawns, not overseeded in the winter, are turning green again. The cacti start blooming in April/May. If we get a little more rain the desert will go crazy just before temps start hitting 100+.
This is from last spring in Sedona.
Thats a beautiful picture, George. I love seeing your Sedona pictures. Its such a beautiful place! Cant wait to see more from you!

Spring in the desert, beautiful George. I always enjoy your shots.
Spring is going to be over with here in about 12 hours. SNOW is coming:eek:
One thing for certain, the weather around here is not certain.
At least I get another chance to practice for proper snow exposure.
My guess is you do not get a whole lot of snow.

Not much snow (rare) here on the valley floor (elevation is about 1200 feet), but in the surrounding mountains about once or twice a year. North and east of here the elevation goes to about 5000 to 6000 feet in about 75 miles. Even Flagstaff and the South Rim of The Canyon are around 7000 feet (alpine desert?).
Here is a shot of Superstition Mountain three days ago. I posted a different version of this shot on another thread. I like this one a lot better.;)

That is quite a backyard you have there. I have to drive a good 3 hours to see any elevation changes in the landscape. Elevation in my town is 10ft., but at least that is above sea level.

Not quite my back yard, but within about 15 minutes. My neighborhood is pretty new (about 7 years old) and still fairly rural (horse farms all around and dairy farms down the road ).
Above sea level is good. As the unfortunate folks in New Orleans discovered. We have quite a few here (in the wild west) who decided not to go back.

was snow!
Chicago still has a weather issue for a couple more weeks. I even saw the squirrels packing snowballs on the lawn (I know, I know... take the shot!) :p

Don, you and the squirrels hang in there. Spring is on its way. I may have to call on you for some advice for snow shooting exposure ie: tell me what I did wrong. Knowing the weather men we probably will not get any snow since they are calling for it.
Squirrels with snow balls:rolleyes:
