If anyone happens to have this camera, I'm having trouble taking good pictures when it's bright and the sun is out.

I'm not a camera or photography aficionado so I don't have technical knowledge of cameras in general but I've gone through all the adjustments that the manual suggests to adjust the aperture and shutter speed.

I think I've tried every combination of adjustments suggested without any resluts. The pictures still come out washed out in whiteness. I'm starting to think that the camera perhaps may be defective.

Can anybody suggest what else to do? I've never had this problem on any other inexpensive digital cameras I've had.

TIA for any advice!

It sounds like your pictures are overexposed. I don't know anything about this camera, but generally to reduce exposure value you need either a faster shutter speed (1/500 or 1/1000 of a second, perhaps) or a smaller aperture ("F-stop" - say F11 or F16). You'll have to look in the manual to find the controls to do this.

I appreciate your taking the time to respond, Alex. Yeah, I've tried to fiddle with just about every control the manual says there is but nothing has worked. So I was just wondering whether other users of this particular camera are having the same experience. My hunch is that the camera is somehow defective but I just wanted to check other users opinions to see if by chance there was anything that I'm overlooking. Thanx again.
