Dear admin,

I am so anxious for the finished review of the sony dsc-L1. Its already been mid-october(supposed release date) and i havent seen any sample pictures nor video shots of it. Whats up???? www.wolfcamera.com has already have the camera posted online so figure the production model is out. Please have the review finished asap.

thanks,

Someone at dpreview forums just got one and posted a sample with more to follow. Here's the link (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=10827876)

I should be getting mine tomorrow afternoon. I will post a few samples when I do.

Those are really nice photos for a pocket camera. But what im really interested is the movie shot mode. i've seen the sony p100 and p150 movie at 30fps and they were great.

I've been very impressed with the movie mode for such a small camera. The weather here has been terrible since I got my L1 so I haven't done much shooting but the few small clips I tried looked very nice.

Here's a sample I shot in downtown Rochester in one of the rare breaks in the rain. It has been resized from 2304x1748 to 1024x768 and compressed 20% in Corel photopaint because I'm a little low on server space

Hello, just letting you all know that i just got my sony dsc-L1 as of November 3, 2004 at Circuit City. This is camera is great for just a small 3x zoom. The lens is "cute". Compared to the Canon SD-200 it beats it in every way, no purple fringes! The movie mode is good also, however, i was only able to use 640 x 480 at 16fps cause of stock 16mb sony duo. I will try to post a link or post pics here of samples. My pictures will be random shots other than taking pictures of "skies and landscapes". :D

Cool. The L1 looks like a sweet little digicam. How is the LCD?

The LCD is very colorful. This is really a great P&S camera. I know alot of young people like me will love to carry this camera around to clubs. I noticed also on the L1 there is no macro setting on this camera. But i did figure out that it does "auto macro" but sometimes u gotta make a guess when shooting up close on objects.

Anybody have made any shots indoor-low light?

Sorry, I just wrote a huge response and the system lost it, so this will be brief. The L1 does not have enough flash power to illuminate people or objects more than 8 ft away. In order to get enough light, you must up the ISO and that has really bad effects on the quality in this cam. Resoloution and color is worse than the canon s400. Not very fair to compare them, but it is what I have. Movie is better than canon's new sd200/300, about half the size with the same size/framerate. Love the form and infolithium, but alas, it's not enough. This cam cannot tkae great pictures with alot of detail and good color, so I am returning it and hoping that the sd200 with fair better. Hope this helps.
