I'm looking at a new party camera for St Patty's Day and I found a brand new Olympus Ferrari based on the Olympus AZ-1. This camera is just over 100 Euros. I know it is a little old (2004) but for the price it sounds like a good deal. It is 3.2mp with a 3x zoom and was on a limited edition run of 10,000 with 5,000 sold in Europe and none in the US (as far as I know). Is this a good buy??? I have until Friday. The same store also have the Oly C-500 for the same price but it is much thicker and would look funny in my pocket at a club.

One reason I'm looking at these cameras (other than price) is they both use xD memory that I already have from my Fuji.

As a Ferrari fan I would say, don't hesitate, buy it at once !! :)

I think the pictures the camera will take are sufficient enough for what you need.
I am certain there are many cameras around that are much faster (this one has a startup time of about 7 seconds), have more megapixels, a better image quality, and are just as small or even smaller. However, none of them will be a Ferrari camera. Besides being a camera for taking pictures at parties, it will be a nice collectors item...:).

By the way, I found a review at Steve's Digicams of this camera:

I'm getting it. I just found it at Foto Koch in Dusseldorf (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.fotokoch.org/index.shtml&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dfoto%2Bshop%2Bd%25C3%25BCsseldorf%26h l%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DG) for 399 Euro. 100 looks like one hell of a deal. I just hope the batter will last.
