Rechargeble Li-Ion Batteries

Can anyone on this forum help answer a question about the newer Rechargeble Li-Ion batteries?

The CR-V3 rechargeable seems to be the equivalent of two AA batteries side-by-side. My digiacm takes two AA batteries in series and the battery slot is not divided - i.e. the batteries would slide in if they were taped together. That seems to be what the CR-V3 is. (My digicam isn't mainstream - Vivitar - so writing the manufacturer won't do much good!)

Lithium Ion batteries have a slightly higher voltage range and generate more heat. My suggestion is to purchase NiMH rechargeables - they are safer in a camera designed for regular AA batteries. You can purchase 4 AA NiMH 2500MAh Energizer batteries and a wall charger for $17-18 at Wal-Mart.
