Ok I have been researching digital cameras for a while and have found a couple that interest me. I'm young and want a camera that's pretty compact, something I can carry around with me when I go out with my friends. But also something that will give me good quality pictures when I go on vacation to places with great sights so I can make prints to put in a frame on my wall.

I am interested in the Nikon S4 because of the 10x zoom and I like the swivel body but have seen mixed reviews. The Casio Z750 also was interesting and I liked the overall feel of it when I was looking at it at Circuit City however I heard there was some problem with "lens errors" and that it has a poor flash. I also looked at Canons 400 and 500 series which looked pretty good.

I want an interesting camera, the cannon 400 and 450 were kinda plain for me. So what would you think? I am open to other suggestions, my price range is basically anything under $400.

Also I took a photography class so manual features would be nice but they are not my top priority because most of the time I will be taking pictures of my friends and random occurrences. Especially since I have been using a disposable cameras lately, but it's time for something new.

The image quality of the Nikon S4 is very very bad, so I would strike that one off my list if I were you.

I am currently looking at the Kodak V570... tho it doesn't have the BEST quality of all the 5.0 MP cameras out there, but for sure, it'll keep me and my friends interested, especially with the panorama function. I mean, my friends all have digital cameras, and no one really takes their time in exam which camera has the best resolutions anyways. Plus, the V570 is not bad quality either! I don't know, I just feel that the V570 is special in it's own way with dual lenses and stuff. I am sure I will enjoy that. That's my thought on this topic.

What about the Fuji Finepix F10 hows that? Or should I just wait until the new cameras for 06 come out with image stabilization?
