Hi to everybody,
I am from Germany and I registered yesterday to the forum. It's a great website and I hope to get some help finding a new camera.
Right now I use the Fuji FinePix 6800 Zoom. I bought it back in 2001 and it was a nice camera, but over the years my requirements for digital photography increased. I liked the style and the usability and the movie mode. I disliked the battery capacity, the SmartMedia cards with not more than 128 MB, the long time it takes the camera to get ready and to take pix in succession and especially the weak photosensitivity: I had problems already with cloudy skies to take clear pictures without using the flash.
I have also a Nikon F-801, bought in 1991. This i a really great camera, but with digital photography nowadays indispensable I am looking for a D-SLR, with about the features of the F-801. I will use it especially for sports photography, landscapes and portraits.
I had a look at the Nikon D50 and the D70s. What do you think, would that match my needs? Would you recommend one of those or are there any alternatives?
I forgot some more information:
- Budget: 800-1000 $
- min. 5 Megapix
- Image quality rate 8 (1-10)
- manual controls rate 4 (1-10)
- no big prints
Thank you very much for your help in advance.
Regards.
