20d or wait for the 30d

Hi! I'm new to the digital world! I have a Maxxum 5D and like it but have used all Canon 35mm cameras in the past and really favor the speed and mp of the 20d. I'm trying to decide if the 30d is worth the wait or if I should just go ahead and purchase the 20d. What do you think>?

Since you have a KM 5D to play with for now, I think it is well worth the wait for the 30D. Its enhancements are very desirable!

Why not stay with your 5D since you like it? Why the desire to change?

All of the upgrades on the 30D worth the small increase in price over the 20D.
The 30D should be priced so competitively that it makes it the best value DSLR.

dun really see the need to change from 5D to 30D. since you are using KM already, you should be waiting for their 7Di.

And why you think you can wait on a KM 7Di is weird to me, KM has QUIT...

resolution increase from 6 to 8mp is not huge. Only few people will notice it, like photographers that need fine detail or cropping (e.g. birder)

I don't see that you can sell your 5D at decent price, so you will need to pay the 20D's (or 30D) full price.

If you also have lots of KM lenses, wait for Sony announcement. KM is out, but Sony took them, we don't know what they will be like until they announce it. If you need resolution, it's highly probable that Sony will have more than 10MP. About the speed, I cannot think of it.

And how about trying a few weeks with the "AS" turned off? See if don't miss it ;)
