hi guys, havent post for a while... well, been playing with my D50 for a few weeks now, and tried to take some shots around london city night life... so i would be really happy to hear some comments, cuz i really dont know how to make good shots at all... ill post some of the pictures, and hopefully somebody would help me out how to make good shots with this scenery and settings.. i will be posting also the setting ive used to take this shot... thank you :D

I was recently on the same block in London and took a similar picture. The first was a straight shot of the building. It came out very dim. The one included was taken by focusing on a building off to the side, I then used the AE-L button to hold the exposure and then focused on the shot below. I am sure there is a better way using manual controls but I find this method gets me closest to the lighting on the area but allows me to draw out more detail.

The sky is a bit blown in the first shot, but that looks like a great spot to come back to for some night time shots on a tripod.
The second is exposed well, the camera did a pretty good job balancing the bright lights with the surroundings, considering they take up most of the frame.
I like the 3rd shot the most of the 3, as there's plenty of action going on, and the columns give it a sense of depth.
