Hi I'm trying to decide on a new digital camera. I currently have a Kodak DX4530. I'm tired of all my pictures being blurry & filled with tons of red-eye. Like I said I'm new here & just a basic photographer. I don't know much about shutter speeds & all the technical stuff but would love to learn.

So here's my info:

Budget: Preferably less than $450

MP: Minimum of 5 MP

Size of Camera: Mid-size; nothing too big & bulky but not pocket size either

Optical Zoom: Min. of 4x

Image Quality: I'd say 7-9. I'm also a scrapbooker so I'd like something that takes high quality pictures but that I can also modify/edit if I want..

Controls/Auto: Camera needs a good auto setting but room to grow with manual settings as I'm hoping to learn more. I'm looking for a camera that I can have/use for awhile even as I grow in my skills, etc.

General Usage: Lots of indoor & outdoor photos. Mostly sports/moving or action photos as I have 2 small boys who are on the move constantly. As i mentioned before I'm a scrapper so I print various sizes of pics; everything from wallet to 11 x 13.

Cameras I'm currently looking at: Canon A620 & S2IS
Nikon CoolPix 7900

Extra Features: I love the thought of a rotating LCD. Also a camera that accepts a underwater package would be nice as we have a pool & that's something I'd love to look into down the road. Possibly image stabilization ?? (Not sure) Also something that can take several photos one right after another with no lag time in between. I miss way too many shots right now.

Thanks,
ChrisB

You should also have a look at the Sony Cybershot DSC H1 and the H2. Reasonably priced and good features
