View Full Version : RAW software?

What's the best RAW software for use with the 5D? I have PS CS but Adobe says the 7D is supported but the 5D isn't in CS but is in CS2. Just purchased the camera (waiting for it to arrive)so that upgrade isn't going to happen right now. Does anyone know of a PS CS plug in that will work or another program that has good results?

The camera comes with RAW processing software. You could try that and see what you think.

Just get the newest RAW plugin from Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows)
and install as specified in the included documentation. The 5D was added in version 3.2 so you don't really need version 3.3. The webpage says it works with Elements 3.0 so it should work with CS too.

I'll give it a try but the readme says The Camera Raw 3.2 plug-in is not compatible with versions of Photoshop earlier than Photoshop CS2 or
versions of Photoshop Elements earlier than Photoshop Elements 3.0. Which makes me think it may not work with CS. The camera will be arriving early next week so I can't try it until then but it won't cost anything if it doesn't work. I would like to be able to do everything in CS if possible rather than bouncing back and forth between programs. If it works I'll post back so others will know.
