As most of you know I am only an amateur hobbiest photographer.

Couple of questions.

I've figured out to work Shutter Priority and Aperature Priority on my 20D with great results.

As a matter of fact my nightime sports pics and indoor sports pics came out fantastic this season by using Shutter Priority.

Daytime sports, I used the aperature priority setting.

Now, I'm trying to figure out *Manual* now.

I know how to change flash settings.

What I need to know is when I'm in "M" how do I change/adjust shutter speed and aperature value?

I wouldn't ask, but I lost my owners manual, not that it was much help anyway.

I'm slowly learning how to really USE this camera. Every chance I get, I always ask the pros when I see them at football or basketball games.. They are always glad to help. I in turn help out people that I know.

I'm slowly getting past the consumer preset functions.

I want to master the Manual function.

thanx

There are 2 dials. One for shutter, the other for aperture. The aperture is controlled by the quick dial on the back, the shutter speed by the dial at the shutter button.

On my 350D, you hold down the AV+/- button and turn the main dial to change the aperature settings in manual mode.

Yeah but the 20D and just about every other Canon camera is different. heh.

Remember to turn the power switch to the checkmark most upper posistion this enables changes to apature where as with it just set to "on" you can't change apateur just shutter speed.

Don't ask me why they did this, since the wheel does nothing if you have it just "on" in M mode.

Download a copy of the manual and "read" it. It really is helpful and explains every feature of the camera. I keep mine in my camera bag in case I want to do something I haven't done in a while and don't remember how. Try all the features as you read through the manual. Who knows what you are missing that the camera can do.

Thanx to all.

I've got it figured it out now.

And yes, I did just download a manual.

Sweet!
