I have a Canon A620 and was wondering what is a good memory card reader to get to use with Windows XP Pro?

Thanks

Sandisk makes a nice reader that you can buy at Staples in Canada for $29.95 CDN if you are using a desktop PC.

Really, any memory card reader will work fine. They sell for as little as $10 and there's essentially no difference between the performance as long as they are USB 2.0. I have a Sandisk 9-in-1 reader that I picked up at Staples for about $15 since I have a few different card types.

I just bought the Sandisk 12 in 1 reader/writer for $36 CDN.

Generally, I find the all-in-ones tend to be not very good. The all-in-one on my HP did not read the XD card although it had a slot marked XD. I had to use an external reader for that.

I had an all-in-one by Belkin and the thing was cheaply and shoddily made. It fell apart. Now I use single card readers. I have one for SD cards and one for CF cards. That setup works very well indeed.

I noticed that the A620 has a format menu option.

Do I need to format a new memory card or is it already formatted when I get it?

I just bought a Sandisk Ultra II 2Gb SD card

I've never needed to format new cards, just pop them in and shoot. But it's a trivial operation, just takes 10 seconds if you need to.
