Thanks Eric. I think that it's great to get a personal perspective of the design engineering philosophies. The comment about reaching the practical limit in megapixels, and shifting emphasis to color gamut and wider dynamic range as being more benificial at this point than a small increase in pixel density, was interesting as well.

I'm stealing some responses from the "other" forum here when I say it's interesting how much passion they have to get the cameras photographically correct. They also admit that there are some colors that just give digital cameras fits, a fitting remark considering there is a thread on the "other" forum about "D2X doesn't do purple". Needless to say, a lot of Nomex being worn by the participants on that thread.
