Hello. I have the PZ-1p (great film camera) and the AFT500FTZ flash. I also have the AF50/1.4, PZ28-105. I have used this outfit shooting small weddings with great success. Question is: has anyone used the D or DS2 with this flash? Lenses? Thank you.

I have used the DS and the D with that lens, I don't have that flash though...

I ended up replacing the PZ 28-105 with the 28-105 3.2-4.5, as it is much lighter/smaller... Wide open the PZ28-105 was better at 28mm than the 3.2 version, but worse at the long end... Stopped down a stop or too though it was fine even at the long end... Still it was a perfectly fine walkaround lens IMO, the close focus wass a definate advantage too... obviously the 50/1.4 is still a great lens on the D or DS...

I've lots of experience using the combinations you refer to on my D. In fact the PZ28-105 is on the camera right now. Always served me very proudly and was very easy to adapt to coming from a Z-1.

I don't take weddings any more, but I still shoot food (where I can really control the lighting), and the 1.5 cropping factor is a help.

Other than primes, for wide shots I use an FA20-35. They make a great walk-around cimbination.

I don't use the AFT500FTZ for work anymore, but I do find it quite suited to the D.
