I shot some photos the other day in raw format as I had never had a camera before that supported the format and wanted to experiment a little.

To my suprise, the Kodak software didn't recognize the format. Well, they appeared in preview and could be imported to the PC, but when I tried to edit them it said it was an invalid format.

Does the Kodak software not support the format at all. It would seem to me that if the camera could generate the file, their software should be able to handle it.

Here's what I have available: The Kodak software that came with the camera, PS Elements 4.0, PS 7. I tried PS Elements 4 with no success. I've not tried the PS7 as it's on a differnt PC.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Gary-

It is my understanding that if you download the free raw image plug-in from adobe.com and install it in your Elements 4.0 that you will be able to handle the raw Kodak format. I have not done it myself. This is only something that I read and am passing on to you for waht it might be worth.

That was worth a lot:) Thank you very much!

I downloaded and installed the latest version and it now recognizes the Kodak format. When I tried earlier, the program, Elements 4, said it didn't recognize the file.

Now it works fine. I never used raw files before, so have a lot to play with. I can open the file and change the white balance just as if I had selected it when I shot the picture.

The adventure begins!
