I went back through some of my old high school sports photos thinking maybe that new USM Jamie showed me could make some of them *pop* a little better.

All of these are shot in JPEG. Cropped, levels adjusted as necessary, then USM applied.

Tell me what you think.

LOL yeah they do look scary on the field. But some of 'em clean up REAL nice. I almost forgot what I was there for! ;)

Thanks....I used Bigma for all but the second one (of the runner in mid-air). That was shot with the kit lens @ 55mm f/8

It doesn't work for ALL images but it definitely helps those "magic hour" shots at the very least. Jamie told me to add 20%, 60, 0 USM to the photo. It seems to overcome the AA filter on my XT, which causes photos to look hazy and flat.
