This is weird. I dowloaded a shoot Saturday, with the model, started looking through it and they were all corrupt. RAW files from the Canon Mark II on various Lexar Cards. Downloaded through a Dazzle USB 2.0 card reader onto the Mac Drive in a new Quad processor Mac G5. The files were corrupt as seen here. The weird thing is that I shot some other things that I followed the exact protocol except they were dowloaded to an external firewire drive and they are fine. I downloaded the same files that were corrupt to my G4 Powerbook and they are fine. Any thoughts?

A few things are possible. The files were corrupted on the cards, or the files got to be corrupted on on the transfer to your G5. It has nothing to do with which drive you use.

What I can advise you is to always check if the transfer went ok before you erase cards, and if your card reader shows to be unreliable in connection to the G5 USB port to try download directly from the camera.

It seems as if it might be my card reader. I did several tests, and the card reader was the failing link as best I can tell. I read a little on a different thread about the possibility of a failing reader that might not be shielded or something like that. So, it seems as if the problem is fixed.
thanks for the help
