Do any *ist owners have a SIGMA 18-50MM F2.8 EX DC AF LENS? what do you think of it? I have seen comparisons on a canon body but wonder how it would go on a DS :) Any other suggestions for a f2.8 or better lens for low light?

There was a thread about this lens over at the DPreview pentax forum ... the nearly universal recommendation was to go for the Pentax 16-45/f4 instead - people said that the Sigma isn't nearly as sharp (not at f/4, and definitely not at f/2.8), and you're going to get a much better picture using the Pentax with a notch higher ISO ... also that the extra 2mm at the wide end were a big advantage.
OTOH, one poster was very happy with his Sigma ... which of course means it could again come down to Sigma's nonexistent (according to all reports) quality control. The Pentax, on the other hand, I haven't heard a single bad thing about..
EDIT: Of course, if you can live without zoom there's a whole boatload of amazing pentax primes in that range... 50/1.4, 40/2.8Ltd Pancake, 35/2, 31/1.9Ltd, 28/2.8, 20/2.8, 14/2.8... take your pick.
