What are the benefits of a 4/3 system when I most of the time use wide angle lenses?

The wide angle lenses for these cameras also seam very expensive.

Benefits? Not sure what you mean, unless you consider, for example, the disadvantage of potential vignetting when using some legacy wa lenses on 35mm FF sensor cameras.

The Oly lenses may seem expensive, but making excellent wide zooms isn't easy or cheap. Have you priced good glass from other manufacturers recently? The Canon EF 24-105/f4L IS is $1250; the EF14mm F2.8L USM is about $2500 (Japan price); the EF15mm F2.8 fisheye is about $700. Olympus prices aren't so out of line in comparison.
