I am planning to buy an S2. What tripod would you recommend? Will the tripod mount fit any tripod? Thanks!

Sunpak 9001UT and the S2 will work with any standard tripod mount.

Velbon Maxi S
Lightweight enough to hike down and up the Grand Canyon with...it goes everywhere with me and easily straps to my hip bag. The best lightweight tripod for the money: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=276690&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

It comes with a ball head, which is totally fine, but I added a pan & tilt head to mine because that's what I like...but it's not really necessary...

A few weeks ago I got the Velbon Ultra Maxis for $88 on Amazon. It's a great tripod! It folds down to about 13.5", expands to about 51", weighs only about 1.5lbs, has a ball head, comes with a carrying bag, and only takes me about 5 seconds to expand and set up. It's very sturdy compared to other ones I have tried (stay away from the Digital Concepts one at WalMart).
This week I found the Quantaray QSX Digi-Pro 100 at Ritz Camera for just $59. It's identical to the Velbon, exept it expands a few inches higher, comes in black, and its carrying bag is sturdier and has two straps, instead of one, so it can be worn like a backpack. It's $29 cheaper than what I paid for the Velbon, so the Velbon is going back.
