I have had my PowerShot S2 for 6 months now and Love it. I haven't found a good bag for it? Any ideas?

I was looking for something that wasn't to big, probably just carry the camera and maybe some batteries.

Thanks

You can get ideas from page 3 of the DCRP Canon S2 IS Tip List (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10364&page=3).

As for myself, I carry around my S2 in a Lowepro Nova Micro AW (http://www.lowepro.com/Products/Shoulder_Bags/allWeather/Nova_Micro_AW.aspx).

Hello,

I have a delsey Gopix 70 (i think it is...or 75), its a great camera bag! Can fit the canon S2, plus adaptor and some few more filters/lenses and batteries. I tend to go for bags with metal hooks, plastic hooks frequently break on me *sighs* probably my "good" luck with plastic hooks aye hehe :) should try for the lottery next time

I posted my bag wish list as part of another message but decided to copy it in on this thread since it looks like tubaloth and I have closer to same requirements than the normal S2 owner that wants everything in one bag.

I bought the Canon recommended case and it is marginally useful accept for storing the camera. I want a minimum size that I can use like a holster, that the camera slides in and out of easily on my belt. I don't need or want extra pockets, I tend to carry extra batteries and SD cards in my pocket or a separate belt pouch. I found some pouches a while back that hold 4 AA and an SD card in its case and that's it, you don't even notice it on your belt.

I have the holster style bag for my other cameras and then have a larger camera bag all the stuff goes in including cameras in their holster cases when traveling.

Thanks Jim, what bag is it that you actually have then? The Cannon one?

Tamrac 5693

This actually looks like something I would want, but it says on Amazon this is for the S1 not the S2? Is this a tight fit for the camera? Do they make one just a little bigger then this one? I guess I was wondering if they have other camera bags that are made for the S2 (besides the one Cannon Makes)?

Any Ideas? Are people please with the Tamrac 5693? Not to tight?

Also I have just seen CASE LOGIC TBC4 as a pretty good bag? Anybody use this bag for the S2?

I have the one Canon sells for the S2 - "PSC-75 Deluxe Soft Case" $18 from Amazon. If it looks like it is what you want we can work a deal depending on how the bag I ordered below works out.

If my memory hasn't failed me I tried a 5693 at a camera store last week. The S2 was a tight fit but did fit. It was not what I wanted so I passed.

I have ordered a Crumpler "The Bundle (M)" and it should be here on Tuesday. I'll post a report to let you know what I think of it. I found one site that claimed it worked with the S2 and it looked like an interesting bag.

If anyone decides they want a Crumpler they have a NY store with free shipping and the same prices the discount bag places list. They have a lot of sizes and shapes, very strange company.

I have the Case Logic TBC-4. It's great! The S2 sits in it horizontally the same way you would put it down on a table facing forward. Lots of storage for extra batteries, memory cards, etc. It's just perfect for my needs. If you have an adaptor for the camera, you can put it lens down and it would fit just fine that way, too. :)

Well I got the Crumpler. The site that said the S2 would fit in the "The Bundle (M)" was wrong (not Crumpler's site), it is way to tight to use in practice. A friend has an S1 and it is a usable fit. They have a 14 day return policy so I sent it back to exchange for the "The Bundle (L)". I'll let you know how it works when it comes. I know it will fit but it may be bigger than I'm looking for.

I have the Tamrac 5693 and find it a good snug fit. It fits best grip up and lens pointing to the side, not front. There is a useful front pocket that will store batteries and cards. Its durable and portable. A good choice.

Well I got the replacement Crumpler bag "The Bundle (L) on Friday. It is a good fit to the S2 with room for a neck strap or wrist strap after you slide the camera all the way in. It has a front compartment (I didn't really want one) that will hold an extra set of batteries but folds pretty flat if you leave it empty. Here is a link to some pictures of the bag.
http://www.jebs-stuff.com/gallery2/v/Canon_S2_Bag/

It is $28 shipped from http://www.crumplerbags.com

I like the bag, it may be to big to work as a belt bag but the option is there and the strap can be made long enough to use both if you want to keep it from swinging around in some situations. I will continue looking for the perfect bag but this is the best for my usage that I have found so far.

I use the Tamrac model 5201. I like to keep everything together (lens, manual, charger etc...), so it may be a bit big for some folks. My camera fits perfect face-down with my Lensmate 58mm adapter in the center compartment. On one side I keep my Lensmate 52mm adapter with Ranox DCR-1540PRO, which fits perfect. The other side holds my mini tripod (although there is room for something slightly larger). The front zippered compartment holds my charger, SD cards, two sets of batteries, filters and manual. The compartment inside of the lid holds the AV cable only, but theres room for other items as well.

What I really like about it is the fact that it turns into a fanny pack. The belt halves (or whatever you call them) get tucked away in the rear if the case when you don't use it.

The bag also can use the MAS and SAS attachments.

This is the perfect bag for my needs. I would highly recommend it.
