I'm purchasing a Sony DSC-F828 which will accept both Memory Stick and Compact Flash style memory. It seems that if you go with the upper-end units, the write speeds can be pretty close. (ie, Lexar Memory Stick Pro @ 12MB/Sec and Lexar CF II Pro @ 12MB/Sec)

3 Questions:
Do I have these stats right? Is the Sony Memory Stick Pro also 12MB/Sec? Is there any major advantage to one style over the other? (Other than CF is compatible with more camera companies if/when I upgrade my camera system.)

CF will be much cheaper.

I agree with Dave. With everything else equal, CF is usually much cheaper.

CF is cheaper, more widely used, and bigger in size available.
