Easyshare software complete trash - alternatives?

The digital camera market, I know, is one aimed at novice computer users who don't know any better, but the Easyshare software is complete and utter crap. I haven't been able to find any generic software that would work with my girlfriend's Z740. Are there any alternatives? I'd rather just not store pictures than use the proprietary software. The only feature I need is transfers.

The most generic way to transfer is just use Windows Explorer. Select the pictures on your camera and drag and drop them into whatever folder you want on the hard drive.

You might want to check out the free Picasa program from Google. http://picasa.google.com.

Picasa is good. I have used that with favorable results.
And it's free.

My preferred program is acdsee. It's shareware though. http://www.acdsee.com
