First off, I read quite a bit on this forum, trying to find if this had already been adressed, so if it has I apologize.

I want to take decent snowboard pictures, and my current point and shoot cannon has more lag then I care to mention. I also want to have good "burst" options or whatever you want to call it so I can take sequences. This camera will ONLY be used for snowboarding, mostly fast moving subjects, always outside in all kinds of conditions. I also have alot of photography background on film, and understand alot about manual controls, so I want to have a least a fair amount of manual controls. As for budget, I am broke as a joke, but will bite it and pay what I have to to get a decent camera that will do what I want. defineately below about 600 bucks, and lower is better as long as the camera does the job.

Thanks so Much for your help.

Hey i snowboard aswell and photograph snowboarding. right now im using a D70s for it and that works great but its a little over your price range at about 1400 CND with the lens. it has a 3fps (frames per second) and up to 140 photos. its great but i think a D50 would be great to... a little cheaper but still not under 6 you could denfetly find one used though and that would be great. nikon also makes a digital camera (D6) i beleive and that has sequencing. but it does have delay. which isnt to great and i think its only about 1.5 or 2 fps its not to great. Im almost at the point now though where i can afford the D200 which will soon be mine in the next month, i am happy to say. which does a rapid 5fps which for some reason i think is 8 but it isnt. so im pretty stoked on that. i hope this helps. goodluck and just curious... where do you snowboard and what video camera do you use. im currently using a GL1 hoping to upgrade to a GL2 enless you use 16mm, if you do let me know im currently looking into that
