Hey guys,
I've been researching the internet for about 2 weeks now for the best digital camera. I've narrowed my choice to Canon Powershot SD500, Sony DSC-P200, Casio EX-Z750, or the Casio Coolpix 7900. Does anyone have any comments on these cameras. I want a 6 or more megapixel camera, that is small with excellent image quality, and has some manual controls. PLEASE HELP!

Assuming that you mean the Nikon Coolpix 7900, out of those four I would definately get the Canon. The image quality is far superior to all of those cameras and, although it has some red eye problems, that's nothing imaging software can't fix, and the detail on the Canon is amazing for a point and shoot camera. But I would also definately consider the FujiFilm FinePix F10 as well, which has an ISO range of 80-1600, and an exceptional noise reduction system.

With "some" manual controls? Whichdo you find important? The Nikon P2 is also quite a good compact camera, and you can choose shutter speed. But it is only a 5mp camera, and the 8mp P1 is too noisy.
The SD550/500 lets you only set white balance I think, the Sony P200/150 and Casio EX-Z750 have full manual controls.
All these three are good compacts, you should determine which manual controls you find important and then go see and hold them for yourself.
Or do you have more wishes for your future camera to rule things out?

I'm new at all this photography stuff and this will be my first digital camera. I don't know much about manual controls, just macro, white balance and shutter speed. I just want a compact camera with excellent image quality and has enough manual controls for me to play around with if I get into photography. I've been looking for days now, and I'm just so confused... :(
