Nikon Coolpix S1 vs. Kodak Easyshare V550

I am buying my first digicam.... I am only looking to take pictures of family/ friends for fun at the 4 * 6 " print. I can only spend under $300. I have come across these 2 cameras for near $250. Please advise. Other camera suggestions for the same price are welcome.

Personally I tend to favor the Kodak V-550. I have been very pleased with the photos from my V-550.
