I just bought a Casio eX-Z750. I like everything about the camera, but as the reviews indicate, red eye is a big problem. I have had a Minolta Dimage Xi for a few years and have not had any problem with red eye even though it is also an ultra portable camera. I wanted to upgrade, but am thinking I may just stick with the minolta. Does anyone have any suggestions for ultra compact cameras with 4 megapixels or better that don;t have red eye issues? Thanks

You should really take a look at Jeff's Camera Reviews. In every review he does a redeye test and rates how well the camera did.
Take a look here: http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/cameraList.php

thanks. I've looked through a number of Jeff's reviews, but haven't been able to find a ultr-compac with good red eye performance. Any ideas?

Hey,

That's probably because ultra-compacts are known for their poor redeye performance. The trouble is that the flash is so close to the lens which causes the 'demonic' phenominon to pop-up. It's just something you'll have to get used to if you want an ultra-compact. It's a small trade-off to the portability and its easily removed in any photo editor...
