I have recently got a Canon D5 (lucky me). I like to take pictures of buildings, and am thinking about getting a 24mm TS lens. Has anyone here used one of these? Are the shifts (11mm) and swings (+/- 9 degrees, I believe) reallly useful? I imagine that it's nothing like what a view camera could do, but is it useful at all?
Kinda general and subjective question, I know, but if anyone has any experience...

I have no experience with TS lenses, however I do know that they are very usefull for Building and Landscape photography (and a few other applications where you want to play with DOF) but are completely useless for general use. If you can justify the cost because you have a need for this type of lens (ie: you shoot landscapes and architecture all the time), then it will be a good purchase.
Hope this helps some
Good Luck

Replying to my own query, I found a useful review at:
