I want to get the panasonic FZ5...seems the right camera for me. But I need to be able to use a polarized lens for the shots I want to take (fish in a pond). will it fit any standard 55mm lens filter? do I need a special panasonic filter to fit the adapter? where does one get a polarized lens to fit this camera?

Yes any 55mm filter will fit but you may need to sand 1 or 2 mm off the adapter

thanks gene....the link was a linear...that will work? I was reading the thread on linear vs circular. I don't need a circular on this camera?

A linear polarizer will be fine. Read this article in the included link for more info. I myself bought a circular so that could also us it on my 35mm slr, should I ever go back.:)

As was said a linear is fine ...but the point of moving on to a DSLR may be a consideration.
