Is there any difference in these types of memory cards? I have an UZ765. Will MxD work?
Thanks guys, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

hi folks,
I have a question,
years ago I bought an Olympus camera that took the smartmedia cards for storage which worked out really well for me... as the years went by I accumulated another card here and there until now I have quite a few cards... now that its time to upgrade my camera to something a little nicer I would rather stick with the smartmedia cards because of the investment I have in them.
I would now like to sit down and do some research on all the different features on all the different camera but up at the top of my list would be the smartmedia card.
is there a list of cameras somewhere that I could download that take exclusively the smartmedia card?
thank you all... ;)

I'll answer the Smartmedia question since I know nothing about the xD v MxD one.
Smartmedia, for all intents and purposes, is a dead format for digital cameras. There are no (or very few) cameras for sale now that use it. But since memory prices have come down so much you can probably buy a single CF or SD card that is faster and has more memory then all of your Smartmedia cards for about $40.

then if one has to buy all new storage cards each time he buys a new camera then one might ask, which would be the most likely to continue on to the next generation?
sure do appreciate your response

The SD card is currently the most widely used electronic data card/chip.

The dominant formats right now are CF and SD. CF seems to be the choice for dSLRs, with SD being used for compacts.
The other two main formats in use are Sony MemorySticks (mainly used by Sony products) and xD (Fuji and Olympus).
