I have a Nikon D70 and have been experimenting with different settings for a while now and since I don't know what I'm doing I thought I'd ask those that do.
I'm planning on taking some shots of Christmas Lights tonight and I would like some suggestions on what settings I should set my D70 to. I took a few pictures last night of the house just after dusk and they came out a little dark. I was thinking that I should have started earlier before it was too dark. I have a tripod and a starburst lens...I dont have a remote so I just set the timer to snap the shots to keep from shaking the camera.

I'm basically clueless as to shutter speed and aperture settings. Any suggestions would be great.

1. Set your camera to Aperture Priority
2. ISO 100-200
3. f/7+
4. Tripod
5. Have the camera expose for the lights then overexpose the shot by ~1/2 a stop.
6. Self Timer
7. Look at the histogram and adjust accordingly

Good Luck
