Hi All
I wonder to know which kind of storage is suited for long term storage. I know that "Kodak" says that its paper lasts for 120 years (although I will never be able to witness it).
I was thinking on puting all my pictures on a DVD or CD, but then I was told that those media archives are not good for long term storage (they get corrupted as time passes).
Does anyone know the lifetime cicle of a CD?. Does anyone know which is the best media (besides Kodak paper) to preserve digital pictures?

I know that there are extended–life CDs out there, I forget their names though. (Stuff like "Armored" comes to mine, a product, I believe, of TDK.)

CD life has to do with the quality and stability of the dyes being used. I suspect the same for DVDs. In both cases, bending/flexing the CD/DVD can affect life and stability. (That's why movie DVDs come in those little boxes with the push-out center so the platter pops up, instead of being bent.)

If you do a search on it you should be able to find out some...I'm about to do the same for my archive materials so I'll post a link if I find something we can use.
