Hi
I need some consumer reviews from those of you that own or have seen the Panasonic DMC-FX9... I'm wanting to buy either that or the Canon SD450 but I need good input... does the image stabilization system work well as advertised?
Any other comments appreciated

I guess this forum is really a hang-out for people with prosumer cameras; and the regulars don't have FX9. Neither do I have one but I can comment about Panasonic IS in general. Panasonic uses one of the best IS systems and I have never read a single article that says anything negative about it.
FZ20 IS help me take a still subject without a tripod even with very low shutter speed 1/8 sec WHEN I CAN really concentrate.
IS is great to have but it will not give you perfectly sharp picture on every single shot you make. If your hands are badly shaken when taking a shot then no IS in the world will save it.

the FX9 is an almost perfect slim camera, the only thing holding it back is image quality. The ISO performance past ISO 100 is a joke and the lens is soft.
The build, finish, design, IS, menus are flawless.
Battery power could be increased too.

hi.. thank you so much for the input
is the image quality that horrible on the FX9? im wondering if i go from my 2 year old canon s400 to the dmc-fx9 that the image quality will actually be worse? that would be a terrible trade off
also.. for those of you that own any large lcd digital cameras (2 inches or above).. are there any problems of it cracking or scratching at all?
thank you everyone
