i dont know why but i observe that site's author is doing everything to Not test minolta 5d. If he likes so much canon cameras isn't better to change name of this site : for example -canon cameras review?

I sincerely doubt that's the case. One of the reasons I purchased the Konica Minolta A-200 was because of Jeff's review of it, so saying that he has a Canon bias would seem patently not the case at all. I'm sure that if he hasn't reviewed the 5D as yet, there's a very good reason why.

Frankly, I am really perturbed to see all the Jeff bashing that seems to have started suddenly. This site is a wealth of great information for all of us. I learn something new each and every day, and I for one cannot thank Jeff enough for everything he does to keep that learning experience going.

One can only review cameras one can actaully get ones hands on. If you want Konica Minolta's 5D reviewed, write a letter to Konica Minolta demanding they send a camera for review to Jeff. And while you are at it, write letters to Pentax too, for a review sample of their *istDS2 and *istDL.

You do not expect reviewers to just go out and buy all these cameras, do you? If Canon sends in a lot of their cameras to review, that is positive on their side. If KM does not, it is a negative on their side. Maybe they fear their product will not come out well, who knows.

Actually I have the Maxxum 5D right here on my desk. I have to prioritize what I review right now, and more people want the E900/SP-350/P880 reviewed than the Maxxum 5D...

Despite the heavy presence of DSLR users here, this is first and foremost a consumer digicam review site. Have you checked how many guests browse the forums at any given time? About 300 on average. I can bet you that if you check on what they browse, 9 times out of 10, it'll be about a digicam, not a DSLR (you can check for yourself).

Also, the reason why the Canon 5D is above the Minolta 5D is probably because it needs to be returned first. The 5D has been on Jeff's list for a very, very long time, and it needs to be finished before the Minolta 5D which to my knowledge, DPReview hasn't even gotten to yet either.

For the record, Canon and Sony are the most proactive in sending out cameras. Nikon's getting there too. Don't go bashing this site for being pro-Canon when it's just the manufacturer who's generously sending these out en masse while you have to nag and nag (Pentax) to get other companies to deliver the goods.
