I borrowed a colleague's SanDisk Ultra II SD card so I could download her photos onto my computer. Before she gave me the card, she inserted it into her computer's card reader and showed me the photos. Then, I took the card to my computer, inserted it into my card reader and tried to download the photos. I got an I/O error. The card reader would not even recognize the card. I tried a second card reader, with the same result. Then I inserted the card into my camera -- no images. When I gave my colleague back her card, her computer/card reader now could not recognize the card either. But when she put the card back in her camera, three images did appear. The rest of the images could not be accessed.

Is this a damaged card? How can the images be retrieved from the card?

$40 Rescue Pro - so basically, only for very important data.

Never a guaranteed thing. There is a downloadable demo that you can use to "sniff" out the condition and recoverability of your card.

Hope that helps you.

Thanks! I'll try this.
