Telephoto lens for dmc-fz20

We bought a dmc-fz20 last year and I know my wife would love a telephoto lens for Christmas, she loves the camera. I'm not looking for anything fancy ($500 for the telephoto conversion lense recommended on the Panasonic web site is a little steep for us (OK, its a lot steep for me); we just use the camera for amateur use- pictures of the kids on stage, vacation etc). I'd appreciate any advice on a more economical (but still good) telephoto lens for the fz20. Thanks.

Do you understand you will need an adapter to mount any tele lens beside the Panasonic lens?
If so the Tcon 14B may be one of the best lens for the FZ20...Here is a site that compares them and while it is for a FZ10 it is also very accurate for the FZ20.
