Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible. About $350

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you? i'm hoping for a small compact camera.. a slim one would be very good

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? 4 megapixels would suffice

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify) standard

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10) 7

Do you care for manual controls? not really :p

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? taking photos of friends, scenery and moments. mostly for normal everyday use and sightseeing

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? not likely..

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? not really, although i would likely be taking night scenes..
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? unlikely to..

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? none, though i would be looking for one that is reputable and lasting, as always :D
Are there particular models you already have in mind? i'm thinking of the nikon coolpix s3, fujiflim finepix z1, panasonic FX8/9 and some casio models

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) not really, thought image stabilization would be good

Of those I would choose the Z1... better image quality(lens) than the Nikon, less noise than the Panasonics... and better in low light conditions.
