Hi all,

I'm looking for a good, compact camera with the following options/accessories: an underwater enclosure and a wireless remote control. [Needless to say, the wireless remote need not operate underwater.] After so much research, I've found only the Olympus Stylus 500 to fit the bill. Unfortunately, DCR's review shows its image quality to be below par. What else is there?!

While it may be moot, here are my answers to the questionnaire:

Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible. Any price

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?: Compact

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? 3.1+

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify) Standard

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10) 9

Do you care for manual controls? Perhaps. I'd like this to be a simple point-and-shoot camera, but it must also work underwater. I'd be surprised if any point-and-shoots offer an "Underwater" preset.

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? Indoor portraits, outdoor scenes, underwater photography. Annual family Christmas self-portrait (with our A.D.D. dogs) is a ritual nightmare - need a wireless remote.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? No

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? Yes, for annual parties, eBay auction items, and a never-ending slew of construction projects.

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? Yes

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? No

Are there particular models you already have in mind? Stylus 800, but is this a little big for a "compact" camera?

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) Yes. Imperative options are: underwater enclosure, wireless remote control. Nice to have: image stabilization.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
