this could perhaps be in the "which camera section", but its sufficiently techie I think.
I'm going to replace my 2.1mp sony.
I would like the ability to blow up photos to poster size.
I like > 5x opti zoom.
I use sd cards
I dont want to have one of those manual focus things (hey, never said I was a profi photographer)
price not important at this point
What difference does the CCD sensor size make and how does it correlate with MP size into photo quality.
I originally spec'd out a penty optio750z .. seemed to be all I wanted. Then I saw the new canon S2. Problem is, it's only 5MP and its sensor is 1/2.7 inches while the penax sensor is bigger (1/1.8). But way more zoom. I'm not an expert image conoissure, and think that the image quality on almost any modern digicam will be enough for regular computer display, and 5x7 prints. I AM concernd with how it looks when I blow it up to say 2 feet by 3 feet (or do the shops that do that have their own magic ?).
I also saw the video on this website for the canon ... that was pretty good. Anyone know how it compares to the video capability of the pentax ?
thanks
john
