I know, apples and oranges. Problem is I don't know if we like apples or oranges yet. We are camera newbies. And I find it hard to make an educated decision. I like the portability of the powershot, it will slip into my wifes purse and easily be taken to places when we go. However, I am not too fond of paying $375 (cheapest I found at digiphotoclub.com). My neighbor found out we were looking at suggested the Kodak Z740, because of the 10x zoom. They said they bought it for this feature and could not live without it. They can take longer range pictures of the kids and still make a nice photo sized picture that is mostly of the kid(s). They said that the 3x cameras would sometimes leave their kids very tiny on the overall picture. I am kind of worried about blurry images. I am not 100% sure what causes this, but our current camera (non digital) always has blurry images....we may not be stable photo takers....And I worry that using the 10x zoom will lead to big time blur. I looked at the 2 photo galleries on this site and it almost looks like there is a hint of blurr with the kodak pics, but hard to tell since the pics are not exactly the same. I looked at the tree leaves and street signs to make this judgement. I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks,
JD
