Cheers everyone,
This is my first post on this intruiging site, and I am afraid that it is quite a tricky one. I will get right to the problem at hand. While taking some shots of a local waterfall with my newly acquired Rebel XT, somehow I managed to dump both myself and my girlfriend over a 10 foot embankment into the churning waterfall. My dsc-T1 was in the pocket of my coat, and got a little soggy. I pulled the battery right away, and when I got home and dried off, I disassembled it to give it a better chance at drying out. Much to my suprise, after a few days of drying I reassembled it and it worked. Sort of. Everything about the menus, lcd display, flash, everything seems to work, but the pics taken come up black. I tried new Mstick, nothing. I think the culprit is a small plunger like part that fell out of the camera while I was disassembling it. I scratched my head for days trying to figure out what part of the camera this little guy came from. I am going to attach a couple pics. If anyone has a suggestion on where to stick this badboy, please enlighten me.

That pin lines up the lens assy. I'm pretty sure you could run the camera without it and may never tell what the deal was. Try a website called pechorin.com look for a fella named thomas d he sells LCDs on his site and you can find some info on it. Sounds like you are screwed as house cat good luck though.

Thanks for the advice on the pin. I am not at home now, but as soon as I get there, Im gonna try it out. I should have more clear in describing my probs with the camera. Everything works fine including the lcd veiwfinder, the playback, etc.except when take a photo, it records only darkness. I will take a look at that other site you mentioned. Thanks a million.
