I need a camera that will be able to capture the energy of 2 small boys. My youngest has very blue eyes. I thought the Canon PowerShot A620 was the camera for us until I read about the red eye review. My sons eyes are almost always red on the pictures we now take. I also liked many features on the Luminx x30 until I read about the noise. I would like to find something under $700. Red eye elimination and anti shake are my biggest needs but I do like the thought of low noise. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Sounds like you're in the market for a dSLR. No shutter lag and higher ISO performance. The best entry models right now seem to be the Olympus E-500, Nikon D-50, or Canon EOS 350 (XT). Any of them will give you excellent results. The main thing for eliminating redeye is to use a flash that is far enough away from the axis of the lens. This almost of necessity means using an external flash, an extra expense, yes, but hey, your babies are worth it. :D
