I know quite a few people who have purchased a DSLR with kit lens.

These people are not photo buffs, they rarely if ever leave the automatic settings, they have a DSLR because they want to take the best pictures possible (often these are new parents).

Suggest a buyers guide, or adding a section to the buyers guide (or a separate review) to answer the question:

"I just brought a DSLR with a cheap kit lens..... now what?"

I've posted a thread in the DSLR forum that has received some terrific responses, and a decent amount of views (400+ is a few days) so there is definitely some interest in this topic.

I know this is hard with a the SLRs as there are so many models and the accessories are not interchangable, but some things are fairly generic.... remote control, tripod, fast 50mm lens (or not), flash, etc. Just had the brainstorm that if this was in the form of a review, you could do a comparison of say the XT with the basic kit lens and built in flash versus an external flash and/or a fast prime......
