Hi,

I am looking to get a pocketable (?) camera with 10-12 zoom. Initially I though my only choice will be the S2 IS BUT looking into forums it seems that there is aposibility of getting the A620 and adding tele lenses.

Please tell me that there is SOME way of getting 2.5x - 3x tele adapters for the A620 !!

Thanks

Shooting handheld at high zooms without image stabilization might have a high probablity of blurring.

Mike: Yes BUT I may have to live with it if I can get away of lugging the much bigger S2 IS. Problem is I can't see anywhere a reputable 3x for it. any ideas?

Ernie: The official canon ones are 1.7x and I am sure I seen someplace a 2x but not a 3x yet

Canon's genuine is 1.75x making total zoom 7x.
I wonder if anyone know when optional lens and adaptor attached, will the lens loose its brightness to some extend?
I'm trying to justify an A6#0 as a side camera.

I'm looking at this (A6X0 with Telephoto lens) option too. In terms of zoom, am I right to assume that I could crop pictures using software to get closer to an image, thus creating more zoom (is this what is meant by digital zoom)? And if this is the case, should I go for the 7+ MP or will it not matter?

I was between the S2 and the A6X0, but I've been told that the A6X0 has a better lens, and I also think that the S2 is slightly bigger than I'd like for a hiking camera. Plus, I'd like to go to DSLR in another year, which would of course become my "better, non-hiking" camera.

Bottom line, does it matter whether I have more MP if I'm going to do some cropping to get closer to an image??? And how does the 1.7 lens play into this?
